Tips from all around

Good morning, posting in English again with some tips from all around the world. From a Japanese in Sweden, a Galician in Denmark and an English, well, in England. From Japan/Sweden comes a message from Hiroko, a friend from the Master, letting as know that a Japanese feminist living in the US has created a collection of t-shirts and jumpers inspired by the amazing speech of Japan's health minister, calling women "birth-giving machines". Anxo, a Galician journalist - Celta de Vigo and Argentina fan - living in Copenhagen, suggests in his blog Súbela (link available in "blogs" on the right side of this page) a documentary about the music in Iceland. It is called "Gargandi Snilld", or "Screaming Masterpiece". It is from last year, a late discovery, but still worthwhile. "Saeglopur", from the latest Sigur Ros album, is a song that followed me everywhere in London - for good and bad times. BBC also used it in every post-match video clips of the English Team matches in the World Cup. Poor Icelandics, soundtrack to Gary Neville, Peter Crouch and other sore losers.

And From Steve Menary, Southern England, comes a suggestion of a nice book that will be published soon. "Outcasts: The Lands that FIFA Forgot" is about football, politics and national identity. It was written by Steve himself, which spent the last few years investigating the passion for football and the fight for recognition in places like Greenland, Tibet, Gibraltar and Northern Cyprus.
